In the ethylene production process, the alkali washing tower is responsible for the key task of removing acidic gases such as H2S and CO2 from the cracking gas, preventing these acidic substances from poisoning downstream catalysts and contaminating ethylene products. However, during alkaline washing operations, aldehydes, ketones, and other substances in the cracking gas undergo Aldol condensation reactions in a strongly alkaline environment. At the same time, active olefins also initiate free radical polymerization, coupled with the condensation phenomenon of high relative molecular weight hydrocarbons, ultimately forming butter mainly composed of aldehyde, ketone condensates, and olefin polymers. The production of a large amount of butter not only seriously interferes with the normal operation of the alkali washing tower, reduces the alkali washing effect, and significantly increases the consumption of alkali solution, but also easily aggregates and scales on the surface of the distributor and packing inside the tower, causing tower blockage problems and significantly shortening the operating cycle of the alkali washing tower. For example, under complex working conditions of high temperature, high alkalinity, and the presence of trace metal ions, it can quickly bind with the generated free radicals, block their further polymerization pathways, and effectively inhibit the polymerization reaction of olefins.
Inhibit condensation: Contains specific chemical components that can significantly inhibit the aldol condensation reaction of aldehydes and ketones under alkaline conditions. By reacting with the active sites involved in the condensation reaction, the reaction pathway is changed to generate stable small molecule compounds, which prevent further addition polymerization of intermediate products such as β - hydroxyaldehyde, thereby reducing the formation of aldehyde and ketone condensates.

At the same time, it has a certain ability to dissolve and peel off the adhered butter, keeping the inner surface of the equipment clean and maintaining smooth gas-liquid mass transfer in the alkali washing tower.
Metal passivation: Can form a dense protective film on the metal surface of the device, passivate the metal surface, and reduce the catalytic activity of metal ions on polymerization reactions. Especially in corrosive environments containing acidic gases such as H2S and CO2, it can effectively protect equipment, reduce polymerization reactions caused by metal ions generated by metal corrosion, and extend equipment service life.
Good compatibility: It has excellent compatibility with the alkaline solution, amine solution, and cracking gas in the alkali washing tower system, and will not have any negative impact on the normal operation of the alkali washing tower and the quality of subsequent ethylene products, nor will it cause other adverse problems such as rapid cooling water emulsification.
